How Much Does a Bathroom Vanity Top Cost in Toronto in 2026?

Last updated: By The Slab Desk

A bathroom vanity top in the Toronto area runs $900 to $2,200 per vanity top installed, before HST, as published by Blackwood Kitchens (Ontario, 2026 vanity cost guide). Width and material set the base, then a matching backsplash, single or double bowl, an integrated versus an undermount sink, and how many faucet holes get drilled. The thing that surprises people is the shop minimum: a vanity is small enough that the minimum charge often decides the price, which is why the per-square-foot rate looks high next to a kitchen.

What does a vanity top cost by width and material?

These are not Countertop Installers estimates and they are not a market survey. Every range below rests on 7 independent companies publishing prices on 7 of their own pages, read off those pages in August 2026: Blackwood Kitchens, Magic Reno, Dupont Kitchen & Bath Fixtures, Toronto General Contractors, Home Depot Canada, The Home Depot Canada, City Rooter. Most are GTA fabricators and suppliers, and several are listed in this directory. Read each one as what that company advertises, not as what a job settles at: an advertised range is written to win the work, a real quote is measured on site. Where two companies disagree, each range is published under its own company's name rather than merged into a wider band neither of them quotes.

Toronto plumber, hourly rate for disconnecting and reconnecting a vanityCity Rooter states these are average Toronto hourly rates and that emergency work often starts at $200 or more. How far apart are the companies?

Far enough that a reader with two quotes should not assume one of them is wrong. The drawing below is the same rows as the table above, one axis per unit, so a square-foot rate is never set against a per cut-out fee. Each bar runs from the low figure that company advertises to its high figure, and the bar is drawn from those two numbers and nothing else. On the per top, supply only, excl. tax (CAD) figures the two furthest apart are C$213.75 and C$1,126.40, and both of them are published by Dupont Kitchen & Bath Fixtures (Toronto, vanity tops). That spread is inside one company's own guide, before a second company is consulted at all. Neither is the market rate, because this site has not got one and has not built one.

Every published range on this page that has two closed ends, grouped by the exact unit its own source priced it in. Read off 7 companies' own pages in August 2026.

Toronto General Contractors states this in the same sentence as its whole-kitchen figure of 2,500 to 6,000 CAD all-in, and adds that edge profiles and cut-outs move it. 2 published figures, per vanity top installed (CAD, before HST)

  • Cultured marble or acrylic solid surface vanity top, moulded integrated sink, installed$600–$1,200

Published by Blackwood Kitchens (Ontario, 2026 vanity cost guide). Blackwood Kitchens states these are cost-effective but offer less visual appeal than quartz and are more susceptible to yellowing and scratching over time. The sink is moulded into the top rather than cut in.

  • Quartz vanity top with undermount sink, standard single vanity (24-48 in), fabricated and installed$900–$2,200

Published by Blackwood Kitchens (Ontario, 2026 vanity cost guide). Blackwood Kitchens states this depends on grade and width, for a standard single vanity. It is an Ontario guide from a company that names Waterloo, Guelph and Cambridge, not a Toronto-only figure.

4 rows in the table are not drawn above. Each is the only figure on this page priced that way, so there is nothing on the same unit to set them against, and one bar alone on an axis says less than the row already does.

Why a four square foot top does not cost a fifth of a twenty square foot one

A vanity top is the smallest stone job a fabricator does, and almost nothing about its price scales down with its size. Most GTA and Mississauga shops set a minimum project size well above a vanity, so the per square foot rates on this page describe a kitchen and quietly stop describing a bathroom. This is what a vanity quote is actually made of.
  1. The minimum job

The fact that dominates everything below it. Many Toronto and Mississauga fabricators set a minimum project size around 35 to 40 square feet, and a single vanity is four to nine. You pay the minimum, not the area.

No company on this page publishes its minimum as a price. It surfaces as a per top figure instead, which is why the per top rows below are the useful ones and the per square foot rows are the misleading ones.

  2. Buy it finished, or have it made

The decision that decides everything after it. A showroom top arrives fabricated with the bowl already in it and no shop time attached; a made top is templated, cut and installed like a small kitchen.

    • C$213.75 per top, supply only, excl. tax (CAD), Stonetouch Porto porcelain vanity top, Toronto showroom retail, published by Dupont Kitchen & Bath Fixtures (Toronto, vanity tops)
    • C$754.00 per top, supply only, excl. tax (CAD), Stonewood 18 x 25 in single quartz vanity top with sink, Toronto showroom retail, published by Dupont Kitchen & Bath Fixtures (Toronto, vanity tops)
    • C$1,126.40 per top, supply only, excl. tax (CAD), Stonewood 61-1/2 in quartz double vanity top with sink, Toronto showroom retail, published by Dupont Kitchen & Bath Fixtures (Toronto, vanity tops)
  3. Choose the bowl, and you have chosen the top

A moulded integrated bowl and an undermount sink in stone are two different products at two different prices, and the sink type is what separates them rather than the material grade.

    • $600–$1,200 per vanity top installed (CAD, before HST), Cultured marble or acrylic solid surface vanity top, moulded integrated sink, installed, published by Blackwood Kitchens (Ontario, 2026 vanity cost guide)
    • $900–$2,200 per vanity top installed (CAD, before HST), Quartz vanity top with undermount sink, standard single vanity (24-48 in), fabricated and installed, published by Blackwood Kitchens (Ontario, 2026 vanity cost guide)
  4. Finish the exposed edge

An undermount sink leaves the cut edge of the opening visible where a drop-in hides it, so that edge is polished as its own charge. On a two sink vanity it happens twice.

    • $175–$275 per cut-out (CAD), Finishing the exposed edge of an undermount sink cut-out on a stone top, published by Home Depot Canada (cost to install a kitchen countertop)
  5. The backsplash, and where the unit changes

Priced by the running foot up to four inches high, and by the square foot above that, at the same rates. The height is where the arithmetic changes and it is easy to miss on a quote.

    • $23.50–$175 per linear foot (CAD), Matching backsplash up to 4 in high, supply and install, published by The Home Depot Canada (national countertop cost guide)
  6. The plumber, who is not the fabricator

The faucet and trap have to come off and go back on, and the countertop trade does not do it. It is a separate visit on a separate hourly rate, and on a bathroom job it is a real share of the total.

    • $120–$190 per hour (CAD), Toronto plumber, hourly rate for disconnecting and reconnecting a vanity, published by City Rooter (Toronto plumber rates, updated 18 August 2026)
    • $35–$120 per sq ft installed (CAD), Quartz vanity top, Toronto per-square-foot installed rate, published by Magic Reno (Thornhill/Toronto, quartz countertop guide)

What drives the price?

Scope drives it more than material does. The list below is ordered by how much each one moves a bathroom vanity top quote in Toronto, and every line names the company that published the figure beside it, so you can read a quote and see where the money goes.

  • Minimum job charge, which dominates on a 4 to 9 square foot top: CGD Cabinetry says many Toronto and Mississauga fabricators set a minimum project size around 35-40 square feet
  • Material choice: Home Depot Canada's national table runs $51-$99 per sq ft for Corian solid surface, $57-$130 for Silestone quartz and $51-$114 for granite, marble and quartzite
  • Sink type: a moulded integrated bowl is $600-$1,200 installed against $900-$2,200 for quartz with an undermount sink (Blackwood Kitchens)
  • Finishing the exposed edge of an undermount cut-out: $175-$275 per sink at Home Depot Canada, doubled on a two-sink vanity
  • Backsplash: $23.50-$175 per linear foot up to 4 inches high, and the same rates per SQUARE foot above 4 inches (Home Depot Canada)
  • Plumbing disconnect and reconnect: Toronto plumber hourly rates are $120-$190, and City Rooter's published flat rates include hand-sink faucet installation from $245
  • Condo access: board approval, a deposit and restricted weekday work hours, none of which appear on a fabricator's quote
  • Templating: usually bundled, but Natural Stone City says some shops charge $100-$300 for custom templates or specialized fabrication work

What's specific to Ontario and Toronto?

Ontario rules and Toronto's climate change the math in ways national price guides miss. Here is what applies locally, from HST to permits to freeze-thaw.

  • Ontario charges 13 percent HST, made up of the 5 percent federal GST and an 8 percent provincial component. On a $1,500 quartz vanity top that is $195 in tax, taking the out-the-door total to $1,695. Confirm whether a quote is HST included or HST extra before comparing two fabricators.
  • GTA fabricator minimums are the single biggest surprise on a vanity job. CGD Cabinetry states that many Toronto and Mississauga shops set a minimum project size of roughly 35 to 40 square feet, so a 20 square foot job may still be charged as more, and a 4 square foot vanity top certainly is. Ask for the minimum charge in dollars, not in square feet, before you get attached to a slab.
  • Condo bathrooms carry their own rules. Toronto Interior Designer reports that written board approval is required under Section 98 of Ontario's Condominium Act, 1998 for any modification affecting common elements, that most Toronto condos mandate construction hours of Monday to Friday 9 AM to 5 PM with no weekend or statutory holiday work and fines from $200 per incident, and that a bathroom gut renovation typically carries a $2,000 to $5,000 deposit and a 3 to 6 week approval timeline. A vanity top swap that does not move plumbing is a much smaller matter than that, but the building's hours still apply to the installer.
  • Plumbing disconnect and reconnect is a separate line that no countertop company on this page includes. City Rooter, a Toronto plumbing company, puts average Toronto plumber hourly rates at $120 to $190 and publishes flat rates including hand-sink faucet installation from $245, kitchen sink installation or hook-up at $375, and a wall-mounted hand sink with cabinets at $745. Budget it as its own line rather than assuming the fabricator will handle it.
  • Small-job scheduling adds calendar time, not just cost. Blackwood Kitchens templates the top on installation day and returns the fabricated quartz or stone 5 to 10 days later, so even a simple swap is a two-visit job. On a full custom vanity it puts the whole timeline at 6 to 9 weeks from consultation. Plan the bathroom to be out of service twice, briefly, rather than once.

How can I pay less?

You can keep bathroom vanity top costs down without cutting the parts that matter. These are the levers GTA homeowners actually use, each tied to a real number above.

  • Ask for remnants by name. A vanity top is small enough to come out of an offcut, and Quartz Co lists bathroom vanities first among its remnant uses. It does not publish rates and tells buyers to visit a showroom, so call two or three shops and compare the quoted total against the $900 to $2,200 installed price for a new quartz top.
  • Buy a prefabricated top in a stock size. Dupont Kitchen and Bath Fixtures in Toronto lists a Stonewood 18 by 25 inch quartz top with the sink already fitted at C$754.00 and a 31-1/2 inch at C$769.60, supply only, against $900 to $2,200 for a custom fabricated quartz top with an undermount sink. If your cabinet is a standard width, a stock top likely fits.
  • Keep the existing sink and faucet if they are sound. Home Depot Canada charges $175 to $275 per sink just to finish the exposed edge of an undermount cut-out, and City Rooter's Toronto flat rates start at $245 for a hand-sink faucet installation, so reusing what is there removes two lines at once.
  • Choose a moulded integrated bowl for a secondary or rental bathroom. Blackwood Kitchens prices cultured marble and acrylic tops with the sink moulded in at $600 to $1,200 installed, roughly $300 to $1,000 below a quartz top with an undermount sink, and there is no separate cut-out or edge-finishing charge.
  • Bundle the vanity with a kitchen countertop job on the same order. CGD Cabinetry says GTA fabricators commonly set a 35 to 40 square foot minimum, and a 30 to 40 square foot kitchen already clears it, so the vanity rides along on material you are paying for anyway instead of triggering its own minimum.
  • Keep the backsplash to 4 inches. Home Depot Canada prices a backsplash up to 4 inches at $23.50 to $175 per linear foot, and applies the same rates per SQUARE foot above 4 inches, which multiplies the cost fast on a full-height wall behind the vanity.

Where do these numbers come from?

From 7 companies' own published pages, and nowhere else. Countertop Installersdid not survey anyone and did not model, average or interpolate a single figure. Every price above was read off a named company's page in August 2026, is reproduced with that company named beside it, and carries the caveat that company attached to it. Several of those companies compete with each other and are listed in this directory, so no single one of these ranges is the market rate. Here is what reconciling them turned up.

  • A vanity top is the classic remnant job. A single-sink top at 25 by 22 inches is under 4 square feet, and a 60 inch double is still only about 9 square feet, so the piece usually fits inside offcuts a fabricator already has on the rack. Quartz Co, a Canadian fabricator, lists bathroom vanities first among the uses for its remnant inventory and says remnants are unused pieces left after cutting large slabs down. The catch is that no GTA fabricator publishes remnant dollar rates. Quartz Co tells buyers to visit a showroom for remnant pricing, so treat every remnant number you see online as a quote to confirm, not a price.
  • Per-square-foot pricing misleads badly at vanity size, and one GTA company says why. CGD Cabinetry states that many fabricators in Toronto and Mississauga set a minimum project size, often around 35 to 40 square feet, so if you only need a 20 square foot vanity top you may still be charged for more. A 4 square foot top is therefore not priced at 4 square feet. That minimum, not the material, is usually the largest single number on a vanity quote.
  • Toronto per-square-foot rates disagree with each other more than they agree, so compare installed totals instead. Magic Reno quotes $35 to $120 per square foot including installation. Stone Wizards quotes $45 to $180 with most of its Select projects at $45 to $95. Toronto General Contractors quotes 60 to 180 CAD for quartz, 75 to 175 for granite and 100 to 250 for marble. Home Depot Canada's national installed table lands at $57 to $130 for Silestone quartz, $51 to $114 for granite, marble and quartzite and $51 to $99 for Corian, with an average job of $2,400 for a 28 square foot countertop, tax excluded.
  • The whole-top numbers are steadier than the rate numbers, and they are what a vanity buyer should actually use. Blackwood Kitchens, an Ontario cabinet maker working out of Cambridge, quotes $900 to $2,200 installed for a quartz top with an undermount sink on a standard single vanity, $600 to $1,200 installed for a cultured marble or acrylic top with a moulded integrated sink, and $1,800 to $4,500 or more for natural stone. Toronto retail supply-only prices sit under all of those: Dupont Kitchen and Bath Fixtures lists a Stonetouch Porto porcelain top at C$213.75, a Stonewood 18 by 25 inch quartz top with sink at C$754.00, a 31-1/2 inch at C$769.60 and a 61-1/2 inch at C$1,126.40, all excluding tax.
  • This page used to state, in its own words, that where a source gives only a range the typical figure is the midpoint of that range. That is not a typical, it is arithmetic, and every one of those midpoints has been deleted. It also used to widen two rows to cover disagreements between companies, publishing bands neither company quotes. Those are now split so each company's own range stands under its own name.
  • Two sources were removed from this page in August 2026. Floorence Tile and Slab carried the granite and marble rate rows and Smart Renovations carried a tub and shower surround price. Both sites now refuse automated requests, so neither figure can be re-checked. The rate rows were rebuilt from Toronto General Contractors, and a Toronto plumber's published hourly rate replaced the surround row, because plumbing disconnect and reconnect is the cost a vanity buyer actually meets and no countertop fabricator includes it.

What does the work look like?

Like this. Every photograph below was taken by the shop under it, of a job that shop did, and it links through to that shop's profile. Countertop Installers holds 3,205 of these across 869 businesses and took none of them. A finished edge, a seam you can or cannot see, and how a slab meets a cabinet run are the things a quote is actually about, and they are quicker to judge in a photograph than in a paragraph.

Can I work it out for my own kitchen?

What do the terms on a countertop quote mean?

These are the words that decide what a number covers. Each one is defined here because this guide uses it above, not because a glossary needs filling.

Templating
The measuring visit. A fabricator makes a physical or digital pattern of the finished cabinets, and that pattern, not the drawing, is what the slab is cut to. Cabinets have to be installed and level first, which is why a countertop cannot be ordered at the same time as the kitchen.
Undermount cut-out
An opening cut so the sink hangs below the surface rather than sitting on it. The cut edge stays visible, so it is polished as a separate charge, which is why undermount costs more than a drop-in.
Linear foot
One foot measured along the run of a counter or cabinet, whatever its depth. Cabinets and edge profiles are priced this way while countertops are priced per square foot, so the two numbers on one kitchen quote are not comparable without converting.
Remnant
An offcut left after a large slab is cut down, big enough to make a vanity top, a laundry counter or a bar. Sold below full-slab rates, and rarely priced publicly.
Supplied versus installed
The first question to ask of any countertop price. A supplied figure is the material delivered and nothing else; an installed figure covers templating, fabrication and fitting as well. The two are quoted in the same units and the same currency and routinely differ by more than any upgrade on the job, which is why two quotes on one kitchen can look thousands apart while describing identical work.
Integrated sink
A bowl made from the same sheet as the counter and bonded to it, so there is no rim, no seal and no joint to fail. Solid surface and cultured marble can do it and stone cannot at any price, which is a large part of what a solid surface quote is buying.
Minimum project size
The floor a fabricator or trade charges below, whatever the job actually measures. It is the reason a per square foot rate quoted for a kitchen stops describing a bathroom vanity, and the reason small jobs are published as a price per top rather than a price per foot.

Frequently asked questions

How much does a bathroom vanity top cost in Toronto?

For a standard single vanity, 24 to 48 inches wide, Blackwood Kitchens quotes $900 to $2,200 installed for quartz with an undermount sink and $600 to $1,200 installed for a cultured marble or acrylic top with a moulded integrated bowl, before 13 percent HST. Natural stone such as marble or quartzite runs $1,800 to $4,500 or more. If you buy a prefabricated top instead, Toronto retail supply-only prices start at C$213.75 for a porcelain top and C$754.00 for an 18 by 25 inch quartz top with the sink already fitted.

Why does my vanity top quote work out to so much per square foot?

Because of minimum job charges. A 25 by 22 inch vanity top is under 4 square feet, but CGD Cabinetry states that many Toronto and Mississauga fabricators set a minimum project size around 35 to 40 square feet, so even a 20 square foot job may be charged as more. Compare installed totals between shops, not per-square-foot rates, and ask each one for its minimum in dollars.

What does a double vanity top cost compared with a single?

At Dupont Kitchen and Bath Fixtures in Toronto, supply only and excluding tax, a Stonewood 18 by 25 inch quartz top with sink is C$754.00, a 31-1/2 inch is C$769.60 and a 61-1/2 inch is C$1,126.40. Custom fabricated, the jump is bigger than the width suggests, because a second undermount cut-out needs its own edge finishing at $175 to $275 (Home Depot Canada) and a second faucet hook-up starts at $245 in City Rooter's published Toronto flat rates.

Is a quartz vanity top worth it over cultured marble?

It costs roughly $300 to $1,000 more installed on a single vanity, on Blackwood Kitchens' own figures: $900 to $2,200 for quartz with an undermount sink against $600 to $1,200 for cultured marble or acrylic with a moulded bowl. Blackwood's argument for the cheaper option is that it is cost-effective; its argument against is that it offers less visual appeal than quartz and is more susceptible to yellowing and scratching over time. In a rental or a secondary bathroom that trade is usually worth taking.

Do I need permission to replace a vanity top in a Toronto condo?

For a straight swap that does not move plumbing, the issue is the building's rules rather than a permit. Toronto Interior Designer reports that written board approval is required under Section 98 of Ontario's Condominium Act, 1998 for modifications affecting common elements, that most Toronto condos restrict construction to Monday to Friday 9 AM to 5 PM with fines starting at $200 per incident for violations, and that a full bathroom gut carries a $2,000 to $5,000 deposit and a 3 to 6 week approval timeline. Check your status certificate and your bylaws before booking the installer.

What is not included in a vanity top price?

Plumbing, almost always. No countertop company cited on this page includes disconnecting and reconnecting the faucet and trap. City Rooter puts average Toronto plumber hourly rates at $120 to $190 and publishes flat rates from $245 for a hand-sink faucet installation. Also usually separate: finishing the exposed edge of an undermount cut-out at $175 to $275 per sink, a backsplash at $23.50 to $175 per linear foot, and templating where a shop charges for it at $100 to $300 (Natural Stone City).

Questions to ask your installer

  • Can this come out of a remnant, and what is in the rack right now? Remnant vs full slab pricing
  • 2cm or 3cm, and does my vanity need extra support underneath?
  • Undermount, integrated or vessel basin, and who supplies it?
  • Do you need the faucet on site to drill the holes correctly?
