How Much Do Quartz Countertops Cost in Toronto in 2026?

Last updated: By The Slab Desk

Quartz countertops in the Toronto area run $65 to $85 per sq ft installed, as published by Stone Valley Countertops (Mississauga, GTA quartz pricing guide). Brand and series set the base rate, from builder-grade colours to the veined marble-look ranges. On top of that come slab thickness, edge profile, waterfall ends, cut-outs, how many seams the layout forces, and removal of the old top. Quartz is non-porous and never needs sealing, so there is no recurring sealer cost to budget.

What do quartz countertops cost per square foot installed?

These are not Countertop Installers estimates and they are not a market survey. Every range below rests on 4 independent companies publishing prices on 4 of their own pages, read off those pages in August 2026: Stone Valley Countertops, Sultan Stone, Natural Stone City, Ikonyx Surfaces. Most are GTA fabricators and suppliers, and several are listed in this directory. Read each one as what that company advertises, not as what a job settles at: an advertised range is written to win the work, a real quote is measured on site. Where two companies disagree, each range is published under its own company's name rather than merged into a wider band neither of them quotes.

B-grade quartz, fabricated and installedStone Valley's middle quality tier. The $85 bottom is the same figure as the top of its A-grade band, so the two tiers meet rather than leaving a gap.$85–$105per sq ft installed (CAD)Stone Valley Countertops (Mississauga, GTA quartz pricing guide)
Premium or luxury quartz (dramatic veining, bookmatching, ultra-white), installedStone Valley writes the top of this tier as $180+, an open end rather than a ceiling.$110–$180per sq ft installed (CAD)Stone Valley Countertops (Mississauga, GTA quartz pricing guide)

How far apart are the companies?

Far enough that a reader with two quotes should not assume one of them is wrong. The drawing below is the same rows as the table above, one axis per unit, so a square-foot rate is never set against a per cut-out fee. Each bar runs from the low figure that company advertises to its high figure, and the bar is drawn from those two numbers and nothing else. On the per sq ft installed (CAD) figures the two furthest apart are $50–$60 and $120–$200, and both of them are published by Sultan Stone (Toronto quartz cost guide). That spread is inside one company's own guide, before a second company is consulted at all. Neither is the market rate, because this site has not got one and has not built one.

Every published range on this page that has two closed ends, grouped by the exact unit its own source priced it in. Read off 4 companies' own pages in August 2026.

6 published figures, per sq ft installed (CAD)

  • Entry-level quartz project, lower end of the Toronto market$50–$60

Published by Sultan Stone (Toronto quartz cost guide). Sultan Stone says entry-level projects may start closer to this, which is a floor for the cheapest work rather than a range most kitchens land in.

  • A-grade quartz (popular whites, light veining), fabricated and installed$65–$85

Published by Stone Valley Countertops (Mississauga, GTA quartz pricing guide). Stone Valley's own quality-tier list. A-grade is the tier it describes as the most common choice for GTA homes.

  • Quartz countertops installed in Toronto, all-in (material, fabrication, installation)$80–$150

Published by Sultan Stone (Toronto quartz cost guide). Sultan Stone states this includes material plus fabrication plus installation. It is the company's summary of what it sees across sources, not a quote for a specific kitchen.

  • B-grade quartz, fabricated and installed$85–$105

Published by Stone Valley Countertops (Mississauga, GTA quartz pricing guide). Stone Valley's middle quality tier. The $85 bottom is the same figure as the top of its A-grade band, so the two tiers meet rather than leaving a gap.

  • Premium or luxury quartz (dramatic veining, bookmatching, ultra-white), installed$110–$180

Published by Stone Valley Countertops (Mississauga, GTA quartz pricing guide). Stone Valley writes the top of this tier as $180+, an open end rather than a ceiling.

  • Luxury or high-custom quartz project, upper end of the Toronto market$120–$200

Published by Sultan Stone (Toronto quartz cost guide). Sultan Stone writes the top as $200+, an open end. This is luxury and high-custom work, not a typical kitchen.

2 published figures, per cut-out (CAD)

  • Undermount sink cut-out$250–$350

Published by Stone Valley Countertops (Mississauga, GTA pricing guide). Per cut-out, from Stone Valley's list of fabrication options. A second sink or a cooktop opening is charged again.

  • Cooktop cut-out$250–$450

Published by Stone Valley Countertops (Mississauga, GTA quartz pricing guide). Per opening, from Stone Valley's fabrication options list. Charged separately from the sink cut-out above.

2 published figures, per project (CAD)

  • Standard Toronto kitchen, 30 sq ft of countertop, all-in installed$2,400–$4,500

Published by Ikonyx Surfaces (Toronto quartz countertop cost guide). Ikonyx derives this from its own $80 to $150 per square foot installed range applied to 30 square feet, so it moves with the tier you pick rather than being a quoted project price.

  • Large Toronto kitchen, 50 sq ft of countertop, all-in installed$4,000–$7,500

Published by Ikonyx Surfaces (Toronto quartz countertop cost guide). Ikonyx states this in the same sentence as a 20 sq ft small kitchen at $1,600 to $3,000, so the two scale off the same per-square-foot band.

2 rows in the table are not drawn above. Each is the only figure on this page priced that way, so there is nothing on the same unit to set them against, and one bar alone on an axis says less than the row already does.

Where a quartz quote is decided

Quartz is priced by grade tier first and by everything else second. This is what a quote is built out of, in the order the decisions get made, with this page's own published figures on each step.
  1. Pick a grade tier

The single largest variable on a quartz quote. The tiers are a supplier's own pricing label for how common the colour and the veining are, not a measure of how hard the material is.

    • $65–$85 per sq ft installed (CAD), A-grade quartz (popular whites, light veining), fabricated and installed, published by Stone Valley Countertops (Mississauga, GTA quartz pricing guide)
    • $85–$105 per sq ft installed (CAD), B-grade quartz, fabricated and installed, published by Stone Valley Countertops (Mississauga, GTA quartz pricing guide)
    • $110–$180 per sq ft installed (CAD), Premium or luxury quartz (dramatic veining, bookmatching, ultra-white), installed, published by Stone Valley Countertops (Mississauga, GTA quartz pricing guide)
  2. The slab on its own

What the stone costs before anyone measures, cuts or installs it. Worth knowing because it tells you how much of an installed rate is material and how much is work.

    • $40–$60 per sq ft, material only (CAD), Quartz slab, material only (no templating, fabrication or installation), published by Natural Stone City (Southern Ontario, 2026 guide)
  3. Template, after the cabinets

Measuring happens once the base cabinets and island are in and levelled. Layout is fixed here: straight runs are cheapest, an L-shape needs a corner seam, and an island is a second install surface.

No company on this page prices templating separately. It is inside the installed rates above.

  4. Cut the openings

Every opening is its own charge and the companies disagree sharply on what it costs. A second sink or a cooktop is charged again.

    • $250–$350 per cut-out (CAD), Undermount sink cut-out, published by Stone Valley Countertops (Mississauga, GTA pricing guide)
    • $250–$450 per cut-out (CAD), Cooktop cut-out, published by Stone Valley Countertops (Mississauga, GTA quartz pricing guide)
  5. Edge and island panels

The standard eased edge is included. A mitred waterfall panel down the side of an island is not, because it consumes extra slab and a precision joint, and it is charged per side.

    • $900–$1,800 per waterfall side (CAD), Mitred waterfall panel on an island, per side, published by Stone Valley Countertops (Mississauga, GTA pricing guide)
  6. The kitchen as one figure

The same per square foot bands applied to a real kitchen's area. These move with the tier you picked in step one rather than being a quoted project price.

    • $2,400–$4,500 per project (CAD), Standard Toronto kitchen, 30 sq ft of countertop, all-in installed, published by Ikonyx Surfaces (Toronto quartz countertop cost guide)
    • $4,000–$7,500 per project (CAD), Large Toronto kitchen, 50 sq ft of countertop, all-in installed, published by Ikonyx Surfaces (Toronto quartz countertop cost guide)

What drives the price?

Scope drives it more than material does. The list below is ordered by how much each one moves a quartz countertop quote in Toronto, and every line names the company that published the figure beside it, so you can read a quote and see where the money goes.

  • Grade tier, the largest single variable: $65-$85 per sq ft installed for A-grade against $110-$180 or more for premium and luxury (Stone Valley Countertops)
  • Brand marketing rather than chemistry: all major quartz brands run about 93 percent ground quartz bound with polymer resin, so what you pay extra for is design catalogue and distribution (Stone Wizards)
  • Slab thickness: Stone Wizards calls 3cm the current standard and warns that 2cm often needs plywood support and edge build-up that offsets the saving; Stone Valley calls 2cm standard for GTA homes
  • Edge profile: the standard eased edge is included at Stone Valley, premium profiles run $10-$40 per linear foot at Ikonyx, and a mitred waterfall panel adds $900-$1,800 per side (Stone Valley)
  • Number of cut-outs: an undermount sink cut-out is $250-$350 and a cooktop cut-out $250-$450 at Stone Valley, while Ikonyx charges $100-$200 and Natural Stone City $150-$500 for the same work
  • Layout complexity: straight runs are cheapest, L-shapes need corner seaming, islands are a separate install surface, and needing a second slab changes the total more than an extra few square feet does
  • Access: condo elevator booking, loading dock scheduling, parking permits and narrow hallway turns all add labour a driveway install does not need (Stone Wizards, Tec Corp Group)
  • Full-height quartz backsplash: $900-$2,200 or more on top of the countertop itself (Stone Valley)

What's specific to Ontario and Toronto?

Ontario rules and Toronto's climate change the math in ways national price guides miss. Here is what applies locally, from HST to permits to freeze-thaw.

  • Ontario HST is 13 percent, made up of a 5 percent federal portion and an 8 percent provincial portion, and has applied since July 1, 2010 (Government of Ontario). On a $5,000 quartz kitchen that is $650 in tax, taking the invoice to $5,650. Confirm whether a fabricator's quote is HST-included or HST-extra before comparing two bids.
  • Toronto sits at the top of the Ontario price ladder. Natural Stone City's 2026 regional table puts the GTA at $85-$160 per sq ft installed for mid-range to premium quartz, against $75-$140 in Ottawa and Eastern Ontario and $70-$130 in Niagara and Hamilton. It also states that most professional installers in Ontario charge $30-$60 per hour for labour, which is a different unit from the per-square-foot rates above and should not be added to them.
  • Condo installations in downtown Toronto cost more than house installations, but no GTA fabricator publishes a dollar figure for it. Stone Wizards and Tec Corp Group list the same drivers: elevator booking, loading dock access, parking permits, hallway and elevator clearance for the slab, restricted building work hours and longer carry distances. Ask for the condo access charge to be quoted as its own line before the deposit, because it is priced per building, not per square foot.
  • Engineered quartz is a silica hazard, and Ontario regulates it. The Ontario Ministry of Labour, Immigration, Training and Skills Development issued a hazard alert on October 27, 2023 (last updated May 26, 2025) noting that engineered stone can contain up to 95 percent crystalline silica, far more than granite or marble, and that cutting or grinding it with hand-held tools can cause silicosis. Silica is a designated substance under O. Reg. 490/09, which requires an exposure assessment, engineering controls, air monitoring, worker training and medical surveillance in fabrication shops. No Ontario source publishes a dollar amount for what this compliance adds to a countertop, so treat it as a reason to prefer a shop with wet-cutting CNC equipment and dust extraction rather than as a line item you can price.
  • No Canadian anti-dumping or countervailing duty applies to quartz surface products. The CBSA measures in force list, which names every product currently subject to Special Import Measures Act duties, carries no entry for quartz or engineered stone surfaces. Import cost differences between budget Asian slabs and European or North American brands are therefore ordinary sourcing and freight differences, not duty. Be sceptical of any quote that blames a tariff for a quartz price increase.

How can I pay less?

You can keep quartz countertop costs down without cutting the parts that matter. These are the levers GTA homeowners actually use, each tied to a real number above.

  • Drop one grade tier. Stone Valley prices A-grade quartz at $65-$85 per sq ft installed against $110-$180 or more for premium, a gap of roughly $45-$95 per sq ft, which is about $1,800-$3,800 on a 40 sq ft kitchen for the same 93 percent quartz chemistry Stone Wizards describes.
  • Keep the standard eased edge. Stone Valley includes it and Ikonyx prices upgrades at $10-$40 per linear foot, so on 25 linear feet of counter that is $250-$1,000 avoided.
  • Skip the waterfall. Each mitred waterfall side costs $900-$1,800 at Stone Valley, so a two-sided island waterfall is $1,800-$3,600 before HST.
  • Count your cut-outs before you compare quotes. The published spread for a single sink cut-out runs from $100-$200 at Ikonyx to $150-$500 at Natural Stone City, so two extra openings can swing the same kitchen by several hundred dollars depending on who fabricates it.
  • Ask which thickness the quote assumes. Stone Wizards and Stone Valley disagree on whether 2cm or 3cm is standard in the GTA, so two quotes can be for physically different countertops, and the cheaper one may carry plywood support and edge build-up you are also paying for.
  • Do not pay for sealing you do not need. Natural Stone City lists sealing at $50-$150 per countertop while also stating quartz is non-porous, so treat it as optional rather than as maintenance the surface requires.

Where do these numbers come from?

From 4 companies' own published pages, and nowhere else. Countertop Installersdid not survey anyone and did not model, average or interpolate a single figure. Every price above was read off a named company's page in August 2026, is reproduced with that company named beside it, and carries the caveat that company attached to it. Several of those companies compete with each other and are listed in this directory, so no single one of these ranges is the market rate. Here is what reconciling them turned up.

  • GTA fabricators do not agree on a headline number, so the honest range is wide. Stone Wizards (Toronto) publishes $45-$180 per sq ft installed and says most of its own Select projects land at $45-$95. Stone Valley Countertops (Mississauga) says most GTA homeowners pay $65-$120. Tec Corp Group (Toronto) calls $75-$140 or more a planning range rather than a quotation. Sultan Stone (Toronto) says $80-$150 including material, fabrication and installation, with entry projects near $50-$60 and luxury work at $120-$200 or more. Ikonyx (Toronto) also says $80-$150. Natural Stone City puts the GTA specifically at $85-$160 for mid-range to premium. Taken together the published spread for Toronto in 2026 runs roughly $45-$200 per sq ft installed, and the middle of it, where four of the six companies overlap, is $80-$120.
  • The single biggest reason two quotes differ is scope, not stone. Stone Wizards and Tec Corp Group both publish the same warning: a per-square-foot price may cover only material, or it may cover templating, CNC fabrication, a standard eased edge, one sink cut-out, delivery, seaming and installation. Natural Stone City prices bare quartz slabs at $40-$60 per sq ft, so a quote near that number is a material quote, not an installed quote. Comparing a material price against an installed price is the most common budgeting error in this market.
  • Grade tier drives price more than material quality does. Stone Valley Countertops publishes three tiers installed: A-grade $65-$85, B-grade $85-$105, premium or luxury $110-$180 or more. Natural Stone City publishes four: entry-level $55-$75, mid-range $75-$100, and installed bands of $50-$85 entry, $80-$140 mid-range and $120-$200 or more premium. Stone Wizards makes the same point from the other direction: all major quartz brands use comparable chemistry at roughly 93 percent ground quartz and 7 percent polymer resin, so what separates the tiers is design catalogue, brand distribution and marketing rather than durability.
  • The add-on line items are where sources conflict hardest, so treat any single figure as indicative. A sink cut-out is quoted at $100-$200 each by Ikonyx, $250-$350 by Stone Valley and $150-$500 by Natural Stone City, which means the honest published span is $100-$500. Edge profiles are $10-$40 per linear foot at Ikonyx. A mitred waterfall side is $900-$1,800 at Stone Valley. Natural Stone City adds sealing at $50-$150 per countertop, which quartz does not strictly need.
  • Even slab thickness is contested between two Toronto companies. Stone Wizards says 3cm is the current industry standard for kitchen countertops and that 2cm often needs plywood support and edge build-up that offsets the material saving. Stone Valley says 2cm is standard for GTA homes and that 3cm adds cost and heavier lifting. Neither publishes a dollar figure for the gap. The practical read: ask which thickness a quote assumes and whether support build-up is included before comparing two numbers.
  • Project totals cluster more tightly than per-square-foot rates. Stone Valley quotes $2,400-$3,800 for a small condo kitchen, $3,800-$6,500 for a standard family kitchen and $8,500-$18,000 or more for a large luxury kitchen with waterfalls. Ikonyx scales its own $80-$150 per sq ft band by size instead: $1,600-$3,000 at 20 sq ft, $2,400-$4,500 at 30 sq ft and $4,000-$7,500 at 50 sq ft. All of these are before HST.
  • One company's numbers were removed from this page in August 2026. Countertop Pro GTA (Etobicoke) was previously cited for eight of the ten prices here, including its brand-by-brand table. Its site now answers every automated request with a bot challenge instead of a page, so nothing on it can be re-checked. Rather than keep figures nobody can verify, the rows and the prose that rested on them were deleted and rebuilt from companies whose pages still read. That is why some familiar brand-level numbers are gone.

What does the work look like?

Like this. Every photograph below was taken by the shop under it, of a job that shop did, and it links through to that shop's profile. Countertop Installers holds 3,205 of these across 869 businesses and took none of them. A finished edge, a seam you can or cannot see, and how a slab meets a cabinet run are the things a quote is actually about, and they are quicker to judge in a photograph than in a paragraph.

Can I work it out for my own kitchen?

What do the terms on a countertop quote mean?

These are the words that decide what a number covers. Each one is defined here because this guide uses it above, not because a glossary needs filling.

Templating
The measuring visit. A fabricator makes a physical or digital pattern of the finished cabinets, and that pattern, not the drawing, is what the slab is cut to. Cabinets have to be installed and level first, which is why a countertop cannot be ordered at the same time as the kitchen.
Eased edge
The plain, slightly softened square edge. It is the profile normally included in a quoted price, and every other profile is charged as an upgrade.
Mitred waterfall
A vertical panel of the same slab running down the side of an island to the floor, joined at the corner with a 45 degree cut so the veining carries around it. Priced per side because each one consumes extra slab and a precision joint.
Undermount cut-out
An opening cut so the sink hangs below the surface rather than sitting on it. The cut edge stays visible, so it is polished as a separate charge, which is why undermount costs more than a drop-in.
Linear foot
One foot measured along the run of a counter or cabinet, whatever its depth. Cabinets and edge profiles are priced this way while countertops are priced per square foot, so the two numbers on one kitchen quote are not comparable without converting.
Slab yield
How much usable countertop a single slab produces once the layout, the veining and the cut-out positions are set. A small change in island size can push a kitchen onto a second slab and move the price more than extra square footage would.
Bookmatching
Cutting two adjacent slabs from the same block and opening them like a book so the veining mirrors across the joint. It forces the layout to be planned around the pattern rather than around the offcuts, and can push a kitchen onto a second slab even when the square footage looks modest.

Which other cost guides should I read next?

These three quote the most fabricators in common with this page, so they are the ones that let you check a number against a second material or a second scope.

Or read it against one other material at a time. 7 comparisons on this site read the same price rows as this guide and set them line by line against another material: quartz vs granite countertops, marble vs quartz countertops, porcelain vs quartz countertops, laminate vs quartz countertops, butcher block vs quartz countertops, solid surface vs quartz countertops and quartz vs granite vs marble countertops.

Frequently asked questions

How much do quartz countertops cost in Toronto in 2026?

Six GTA companies publish figures spanning $45-$200 per square foot installed, and four of them overlap at $80-$120. Stone Valley Countertops in Mississauga breaks it into tiers: A-grade $65-$85, B-grade $85-$105, premium or luxury $110-$180 or more. Sultan Stone and Ikonyx both publish $80-$150 all-in for Toronto. Ikonyx scales that to a standard 30 square foot kitchen at $2,400-$4,500, plus 13 percent HST. Every one of these is a price the company advertises, not a survey of what jobs settle at.

Why is one quartz quote $50 per square foot and another $150?

Usually because they are not the same scope. Natural Stone City prices a bare quartz slab at $40-$60 per square foot with no templating, fabrication, edge finishing, cut-outs, delivery or installation included. An installed price normally covers slab, CNC fabrication, a standard eased edge, one undermount sink cut-out, delivery, seaming and installation. Stone Wizards adds the other half of the answer: all major brands use roughly the same 93 percent ground quartz and 7 percent polymer resin, so the rest of the gap is brand catalogue and distribution rather than a better surface.

What does a waterfall island add to a Toronto quartz job?

Stone Valley Countertops in Mississauga prices a mitred waterfall edge at $900-$1,800 per side, so a two-sided island is $1,800-$3,600 before HST. Stone Valley is the only company cited on this page that publishes a per-side figure. Waterfalls cost this much because they consume considerably more slab and require a precision mitred seam with the veining aligned across the corner.

Should I choose 2cm or 3cm quartz in the GTA?

Two Toronto companies disagree, which is worth knowing before you compare bids. Stone Wizards says 3cm is the current industry standard for kitchen countertops and that 2cm often needs plywood support and edge build-up that cancels the saving. Stone Valley says 2cm is standard for GTA homes and that 3cm adds cost and heavier lifting. Neither publishes a dollar figure for the difference. Ask each quote which thickness it assumes and whether support build-up is priced in.

Do quartz countertops cost more in a Toronto condo than in a house?

Yes, though no GTA fabricator publishes a set surcharge. Stone Wizards and Tec Corp Group cite the same drivers: elevator booking, loading dock access, parking permits, slab clearance through hallways and elevators, restricted building work hours and longer carry distances. Condo kitchens are also smaller, so Stone Valley puts a small condo kitchen at $2,400-$3,800 and Ikonyx puts a 20 square foot kitchen at $1,600-$3,000, both before any access charge. Ask for condo access to be a separate line.

What extras should I expect on top of the per-square-foot price?

A sink cut-out is $100-$200 at Ikonyx, $250-$350 at Stone Valley and $150-$500 at Natural Stone City. A cooktop cut-out is $250-$450 at Stone Valley. Edge profiles are $10-$40 per linear foot at Ikonyx, and a full-height quartz backsplash is $900-$2,200 or more at Stone Valley. Removal and disposal of the old countertop, plumbing disconnect and reconnect, and backsplash work are quoted separately by essentially every GTA shop. Then add 13 percent HST, which is $650 on a $5,000 kitchen.

Questions to ask your installer

  • Which quartz line and colour is quoted, and will all my slabs come from one lot?
  • How will the pattern be matched across the seam?
  • Is the edge profile in the base price or an upgrade? Edge profile price benchmarks
  • What does the manufacturer warranty cover, and what does your labour warranty cover?
  • Do you fabricate in your own shop or subcontract the cutting?
